But why do we call it a BRIK in the first place??
The phrase “Brick Workout” is often used in the triathlon world. Brick workouts are when athletes stack two or more events on top of one another. For example, if I swam 400 meters and then jumped on my bike for 10 miles, that’s a Brick workout.
This is part of the inspiration for the Kaia term “BRIK” since these sessions include Kaia workouts as well as yoga and running. But that’s not the only way we look at it.
Literal bricks are often used for building a foundation, a strong & sturdy base to build upon. This is really what our BRIK sessions are all about. Six weeks to set new foundations made up of healthy nutrition and kick A$$ workouts!
Our hope is that, after you build a strong foundation during a BRIK session, you use what you’ve learned and gained to continue building upon. In our following sessions (CORE sessions), you use your strong base, your foundation, to keep growing and getting stronger.
Then, before you know it, another BRIK session rolls around and you add more strong blocks to what you’ve already built… And in turn, continue getting healthier and more fit!!
So whether this is your first BRIK or your 10th, continue building that strong foundation for a healthier & stronger you!
