Did you just laugh? Or roll your eyes at the title of this post?

Without a doubt, running is the least-liked thing in the gym, always. But I’m here to tell you all of the reasons you should find joy in running!!

  1. It’s good for you physically!
-Running helps strengthen your bones (really important for women!)

-Burns more calories than almost any other exercise!
  2. It’s good for you mentally!
    -
Running gives you the opportunity to clear your head, process, and release stress
    -It gives you YOU time!
  3. It gets you outside.
-Rain or shine, it’s good for us to get outside and breath the fresh air!
-Running let’s us get a little dirty, wet, and sweaty!
  4. It’s a great way to get together with friends.
-Life is busy… Running is a healthy way to catch up with your girlfriends!
-Set a weekly running ‘date’ with a friend, it will keep you accountable!

Before you know it, you’ll start to love running! (And if not love, at least like!) The hardest step is the first one. Get yourself out the door and hit the pavement! Running is a great way to stay in shape and get yourself off the couch!

  1. I have to say this article is 100% correct. Four years ago when I started running AGAIN (life and kids got in the way), I could only run/jog, about a quarter mile. This was in March. I had a couple friends I met through the bootcamp I was attending at that time and we jogged on the days we did not have the class. In June of that same year, I ran my first 5K, October I ran my first half marathon and in December I ran my first Marathon and just ran my third marathon in December. You are never too old. I am going to be 50 next week and I am more physically active and stronger that I have been in over a decade. Everytime I added running into my routine the weight came off LOT faster than with any other exercise. We are fortunate to have beautiful scenery around us here in the Sacramento area!

  2. I forgot to add I lost 30 lbs in about 3 months!
